This Mike Price thing is just awful - what in the world is wrong with that woman, trying to order $1000 in room service? There are several aspects of this incident which I find troubling.
How did this story wind up in the papers? I'm trying to find that out now. Was it an unscupulous hotel employee that alerted the media? Hotels should be discreet, especially about the activities of head coaches of top SEC college football programs.
What was that girl thinking? How completely ridiculous to order one of everything from room service - to go. Why not head to the spa and have a nice massage and facial instead? It's far more normal and less likely to raise suspicions.
Mike Price is not blameless. He says he has no recollection of how he wound up in his room with the woman, who thankfully hasn't yet been identified as a stripper. If Price drank to the point of a blackout, he has a serious drinking problem that needs to be addressed. That's one possibility, the other is that he is lying. For which I don't blame him; who wouldn't lie in an effort to keep a job as the head coach of the Tide? If he was still aware of his actions when he took this woman to his hotel room, he was being very careless in not seeking out a discreet woman who wouldn't try any stunts. He's Mike Price; I am sure there are women who would be more than happy to entertain him for an evening without any additional drama.
I would like to make it known that the services of rivercitykitty.com are more discreet than those of most strip clubs in the SEC. Guys are always getting into trouble in clubs in Florida. So for any head coaches of football programs in the SEC, I would like to assure you that if you engage my services for an evening's entertainment, I will ensure you no hotel leaks, no leaks to the media from me, and no behavior on my part that would draw undue attention to you or your football program. I'll make sure you stay safely in your suite where you belong. All I'll ask is my usual rate plus travel expenses and some tickets to the game.
Don't you think they'd be better off with me around? After all, I am a visiting, legitimate UT student doing research on the economics of college sports, instead of a random woman who may act irrationally - who I am beginning to think was an Auburn fan.
