Monday night
Outfits: Long black halter, stockings, black platforms
Music: The Charlatans "You're So Pretty," "Love Is the Key," Idlewild, Lynrd Skynrd "Three Steps," "Sweet Home Alabama" - by the request of an Alabama man.
Ah, Monday nights - I certainly haven't worked many of these. Spent most of the night with a couple of fellas in town from Mobile, though one of them was actually born right next to my hometown. They reminded me so much of a couple of my guy friends from Memphis - they were hilarious and very fun to hang out with. Definitely perked up my night. Small drama with a new dancer - she was told by a bouncer not to do a particular move and took offense - thing is, this particular move wasn't particularly lewd, just really unladylike and extremely unflattering - ok, she was sitting in a chair, slumped down, facing the customer, and propping her ankles on his shoulders. See, we aren't supposed to do stuff like that because he could make a grab at the goods. My problem wasn't with the potential lewdness of the position, it was with the tackiness. Now, I'm a realist and know I'm no princess, but please! Let's pretend to be ladies. And let's think of all of the situations in which it is appropriate to place one's ankles on another's shoulders - I can think of one. Two if you're a cheerleader.

Friday night
Outfits: "Ripped" black spandex dress; Madisin's really cool black dress with leather laces; black fishnet thigh highs and black leather platforms
Music: Idlewild "American English" and "World in Your Arms," The Strokes "Someday," Wilco "Heavy Metal Drummer"
Kind of a rough night all around - I could never really get into a groove. There was a really big frat party in the club that had brought a lot of dates - some of whom were snippy towards the dancers (they were laughing and pointing at one girl while she danced for a nearby table, which pissed the DJ off so much he went over to give them some tips on club etiquitte!). I didn't have any encounters that bad, fortunately. I've come to think that women over 30 have a lot more fun in the clubs - maybe because they are more secure and don't see strippers as competition. Which we certainly aren't for the sorority girls!
The kinds of mixed crowds that like me are usually hipsters or more rural types. I really love dancing for women when they are relaxed - they are soft and sweet and fun.
Anyhow, crowd not into it, a club regular that has taken a liking to me was trashed when he showed up, causing me to worry about him more, and I twisted my ankle at the end of the night on a damn bottle cap.
I did have a lot of fun dancing for a cute young rodeo cowboy, and was complimented when his friend said, "Damn! Howcome I never get the wild ones?" Yep, that's me, I'm wild.
I was also pleased to see my friend Zoe (www.zoebritton.net) who will be dancing Sunday for those of you who want to come see an incredibly hot, natural centerfold. We might go check out an Austin burlesque troupe tonight at Momo's - I've been wanting to find a venue to do some classical striptease in.

All right, I think I have this sorted out. Hopefully this weekend I will get to the juicy stuff.

Hopefully I will soon learn how to deal with the blogger.

Hello! This is where I will talk about work.
